Hi, I’m Jaye – photographer, filmmaker, storyteller, and the heart behind Rue & Wild.

Raised in Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast and now based in the wilds of Northumberland, I’m inspired by the nostalgia of home videos, the magic of cinema, and the quiet, beautiful moments that happen when no one’s looking.

My photos and wedding films aren’t traditional - they’re honest, artful time capsules. Think elevated home video meets intimate documentary, with natural audio and subtle storytelling at the core.

I create slow, intentional films that breathe. I’m not interested in fast-paced highlight reels or cookie-cutter edits. Your story deserves space to unfold naturally, just like the day itself.

I approach each wedding with sensitivity and care, working quietly and unobtrusively. Many couples say I bring a calming presence to their day - and that’s something I hold with pride.

I take time to really get to know the people I film and photograph - because your story is about more than just one day. I want your photos and film to feel like you - not a performance, not a trend, but something meaningful and deeply personal.

This all started with my mum’s home videos. Watching them back - hearing my 3-year-old voice chatting to my late nan, catching her laugh, her expressions - made me realise that films are true time capsules. Films and photos hold memories.

I pour my heart and soul into the editing process, crafting each film and gallery with intention, care, and a deep sense of storytelling. Because of this, I only take on a very limited number of bookings each year - so that every couple gets my full focus, time, and energy. Nothing here is rushed. Nothing is ever done halfway.

While filmmaking is my first love, I now also offer photography. The same honest, emotive storytelling - just captured in a stills.

If you’re looking for storytelling that feels honest, slow, and soulful, get in touch and say hello. I can’t wait to hear from you.

NICE TO MEET YOU!
